How does NTAT differ from traditionally popular exams like IELTS, TOEFL, GRE, etc?

IELTS means International English Language Testing System. You can find complete details about it on http://www.ielts.org/. It is a test to evaluate proficiency in English language. Another similar test is TOEFL (http://www.ets.org/toefl). Scores of these tests are used in admission process at countries like USA, New Zealand, etc. GRE is a test, scores of which are used for taking admission at graduate courses in universities from UK, Canada, Australia and others (http://www.ets.org/gre).

NTAT has a very different test structure. The 90 min test is conducted in an offline pen-paper style. Students need to come down to examination centre to write the exam. As traditional as it may sound, but every student appearing for NTAT writes the exam under surveillance of a human invigilator. In contrast to above college admission related tests, NTAT is a statistical assessment of a student to gain an understanding of his/her employability as an intern. The NTAT is conducted by Switch Idea, India's first CII approved platform to provide registered companies with qualified interns for their business requirements. Note, unlike others, NTAT takes place only twice a year and have limited no. of slots.
